You Gots To Grill – Vol. 8
“To Pimp A Butterfly Shrimp”
No shows booked at the moment.
For the past 5 years every Halloween weekend, Pathfinder of West Virginia has been shutting down the main drag at WVU, trucking in tons of snow, booking awesome talent and throwing the best party of the year. Major props to the man with the master plan, Andrew Walker, the whole staff at Pathfinder, the terrain park at 7 Springs and Red Bull for making the magic happen. Thanks to Acrylick for the fly gear.
This year I got to rock with the legendary Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest. It was pretty surreal to be standing on stage watching him perform “Scenario”. His DJ, Rasta Root, was also great to meet and it was cool to watch him work. Be sure to check out the photos and video below of the event…
Click the link or picture below to watch the video recap of the gig. Shout out to my man Kris Mortensen for shooting and editing the footage.
“It should be like this high, bro…”
The team from Pathfinder and 7 Springs are amazing. They trucked in 20,000 lbs. of snow, constructed all the ramps and then broke everything back down all in the same day.

Years ago I was in Vegas for a fashion trade show and the highlight of the week was supposed to be a DJ AM / DJ Jazzy Jeff performance at Rain Nightclub. Unfortunately AM died that week the the gig ended up being a tribute show by DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ Premier. I remember walking into the club and seeing this gorgeous woman on the decks warming up the party. It was the first time I had heard anyone play “Clear” by Cybotron at a night club. I was sold. The rest of her set was super dope and I became a big fan.
Fast-forward a few years, a little social networking, some mutual friends and here we are. Last week DJ 88 h it me up about being part of her regular DJ interview series, Hang The DJ. She’s got some heavy hitters on there and it was an honor to be considered. Check me out, read some other great interviews and do your self a favor, next time you’re in Vegas, look her up!
In case you were wondering who’s been holding down Raleigh, North Cakalack, it’s definitely Cortney. When she’s not putting in work on her blossoming modeling career, you can find Cortney making guys drool as a Go-Go dancer at the biggest, baddest night clubs in Raleigh. If you’re not sold on wifey material yet, she’s also quite the sneaker head, boasting over 90 pairs of Nikes alone. Oh and her dad owns a ’64. #WinWinWin

Cause I’m rollin’ in my six four…
I really dig Mr. Saxobeat but he needed more bass and some malt liquor. It’s Beastie Boys “Brass Monkey” flipped into Alexandra Stan “Mr. Saxobeat”.

On Saturday, October 22nd, I DJ’d the wedding of 2 awesome people, Lindsey and Ashwin, at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh. I was already excited because the music request list was nothing but house music and Motown, and the caterer told me the menu included traditional Indian food. (Not a bad gig if you ask me…) Luckily the weather held out and we had a beautiful ceremony. After dinner, photos and a few quick speeches, it was non-stop dancing until it was time to leave. I had a blast and I have a feeling everyone else did too. Thanks to Caitlin Thomas for the awesome photos.
Miss October 2011, originally from Norway, now lives in London. Aside from being a full-time International Relations student, Maggie also keeps a full modeling schedule. Beauty, brains and also a huge fan of gangster rap. What else could you ask for?!

I love women and I love electronic dance music. This is a great mix of both.

Next weekend I’ll be DJing the 5th annual Motown Throwdown at WVU in Morgantown, West Virginia. It’s a giant party at WVU every year where they block off the main street in town, High Street, truck in tons of snow, hold a snowboard competition and have DJs rock it. This year I’ll be performing with the legendary Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest. The party is put on every year by the homie Andrew at Pathfinder. If you’re at WVU, you’d better be there. If you’re not, I suggest making the drive. Check out the pics below from 2010…
